Implementation of the 7th and final project activity -The final conference, within project " Towards European values - people with disabilities as equal citizens " was organized on July 8th , 2016 in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Conference was well visited, attended by representatives of partner organizations in the project-both professionals and persons with disabilities. In addition to the Serbian Association for Promoting Inclusion as the program beneficiary, the meeting was attended by: Serbia- School with dormitory for students with hearing and speech impairments “11th may” Jagodina, Association with mental disabilities from Nis, Center for society orientation, and Association "Halfway there" Pancevo; Italy - Regional Institute Ritmajer from Trieste; Croatia - Josip Matos primary school, Vukovar; Bosnia and Herzegovina - Institution for Adult Education "Socio-Educational Centre" from Banja Luka; Macedonia - Republic center for support of persons with intellectual disabillity „Poraka“ Skopje; Montenegro - Association of parents of the children with disabilities "Ray of hope“ Pljevlja;  Slovenia - Institute for the deaf Ljubljana.   Inclusive center "Dr Milan Petrovic" from Novi Sad had the honour to host the conference.

Besides project partner  participants, the conference was attended by  representatives and decision-makers  from republic, regional and local level, as well as professional workers in front of the various organizations dealing with persons with disabilities or social protection.

Some examples are The Cabinet of the Mayor of Novi Sad, in front of which Mr Aleksandar Petrović, Mayor assistant, attended the event, Republic Institute for Social Protection, from which the event was given significance by 3 representatives, including director, Mr Predrag Petrović. National Employment Service, Center for housing and day care for children and youth with disabilities, Belgrade, Ombudsman of the city of Novi Sad, Center for Social Work of Novi Sad, Regional Institute for social protection, Home for adults and disabled persons Niš, Milan Petrović School from Novi Sad, Clinic for psychiatric diseases, "Dr. Selaković ", and others.

The event was followed by media-  RTV Novi Sad and RTV Vojvodina.

Conference was attended by total number of 108 participants.

The conference presented project implementation and results based on  cooperation and active participation in project activities-seminars and training courses. Each partner organization presented their work through a short presentation of their participation and implemented activities-application of lessons learned at the level of the organization during the project.  The diversity and wide range of application of learned knowledge and skills in different areas, sectors and conditions were demonstrated.

 which will be held on 8th of July 2016. at 10 am in the premises of the Inclusive Centre" Milan Petrović ", Bate Brkića bb, Novi Sad, Serbia.

The theme of the Conference is presentation of model of self-advocacy and social inclusion of persons with disabilities, arising from mutual cooperation and examples of good practices of project participants .

Serbian Association for Promoting Inclusion - SAPI, is implementing the project in cooperation with 11 partner organisations from 7 countries: Inclusive center, Novi Sad,  Center for Society Orientation, Belgrade, Association „Halfway there“, Pančevo Association with mental disabilities, Niš, School with home for students with hearing  impairments "11th May" , Jagodina; Regional Institute Ritmajer for the blind of Trieste, Italy, "Josip Matoš" primary school,Croatia, Institution for Adult Education "Socio-Educational Centre", Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic center for support to persons with intellectual disabilities in Macedonia, „Ray of hope“, Montenegro and Institute for the deaf, Slovenia.

The project is funded by the EU through the program Europe for Citizens.
