1 SERBIAN ASSOCIATION FOR PROMOTING INCLUSION - SAPI

Belgrade, Serbia

Serbian Association for promoting inclusion- SAPI is a non-governmental organisation with more than 10 years of experiences of promoting inclusion of persons with disabilities. SAPI's main activities are developing and implementation of community-based social services for PwD, such as: supported housing for PwD, supported employment and work engagement, self-advocacy, supporting community-living for PwD, Home care social service and creative workshop. SAPI has accredited training program for community based housing service for PwDs for employees.

On local and national level, SAPI cooperates with various organisations, associations and institutions from civil and public sector. On the international level, SAPI is a member of network Inclusion Europe (IE).

 

2 CENTER FOR SOCIETY ORIENTATION

Belgrade, Serbia

The mandate of COD is to work on building capacity of local actors in Serbia and other countries of SEE region, in order to enable all marginalized groups, focusing on PWDs, to enjoy their fundamental human rights and equal opportunities.The organization runs the Disability Rights Promotion International Regional Center for Europe for monitoring the rights of PWDs as part of the global collaborative project. Program is aimed to monitor disability rights and implementation of UN Convention on rights of PWDs worldwide. Through monitoring processes COD has been collecting information on human rights violations against PWDs, using acquired information to report them to national and international human rights institutions. COD is a member of EASPD, the largest European network of social service providers. Through EASPD, collected information on situation in service provision from countries of the region were used to influence policy-making processes within the European Commission.

 

3 ASSOCIATION "HALFWAY THERE"

Pancevo, Serbia

The association "Halfway" is a non-governmental, non-profit association of professionals of different profiles, volunteers, parents and their families who are committed to improving the quality of life and inclusion of PWDs into the society of the local community.

The primary service provided by the Association is the communitty based housing for PWDs in order to prevent institutionalization.

The association provides: Home care social service, BREAK social service, sports activities (fitness, bowling, swimming and table tennis), Drama Club, Working center. The Association educates high school students about volunteerism and activism as part of promotion activities.

 

4 SCHOOL WITH DORMITORY FOR STUDENTS WITH HEARING AND SPEECH IMPAIRMENTS "11-TH MAY"

Jagodina, Serbia

School with home for students with hearing and speech impairment "11.may" was established in 1928 and since then has been working in the education and rehabilitation of children with hearing and speech impairment.

Today, the school performs the activity of a preparatory preschool program and early rehabilitation of students with disabilities within the development group. School performs the activity of primary education of students with disabilities, the activity of vocational training and education of students with disabilities in the work area:

1) Agriculture, food production and processing, educational profile: Baker (in the three-year duration)

2) Chemicals, metals and graphic, educational profile: bookbinder (a three-year term)

3) Personal services, educational profile: male and female hairdresser  (in the three-year duration)

The school provides accommodation and meals for students within the home, which is an organizational unit of the school.

 

5 ASSOCIATION WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES NIS

Nis, Serbia

Association with Mental Disabilities Nis, provides assistance to people with intellectual disabilities and their families in achieving legal and other entitlements. Association: Initiates and participates in all actions and supports activities for people with intellectual disabilities; Makes effort to inform the general public about people with intellectual disabilities, to initiates and provides assistance for institutional and non-institutional forms of care for its members according to their abilities; provides rehabilitation in accordance with preserved abilities as well as work on informing members about all the changes and applicable legal regulations; Educates parents for more successful and early treatment of people with intellectual disabilities in the family environment; Brings together persons with intellectual disabilities through daily work education, rehabilitation, occupational therapy and implement programs - ‘’Day care center’’ and ‘’Break from Parenting’’.

 

6 INCLUSIVE CENTER

Novi Sad, Serbia

The Inclusive Center was established at the initiative of the members of the collective School for primary, secondary and higher education Milan Petrović since there is a need to establish a non-governmental associations to improve programs that directly affect the improvement of the work and lives of children and PwDs. Activities of the Centre: prevention and early intervention services, care and assistance, support to children and pupils within the primary, secondary and higher education levels; support to individuals, agencies and organizations in all areas that implement programs for PwDs; professional support in the creation of and implementation of programs for PwDs in all areas of their life support to families of PwDs;provision of vocational guidance, work engagement and employment of PwDs; education programs of PwDs and the general public;information of PwDs and the general public; and sensitization programs to empower PwDs and the general public.

 

7 ASSOCIATION OF PARENTS OF THE CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES "RAY of HOPE"

Pljevlja, Montenegro

The Parents Association of children with disabilities “The Ray of Hope”, being registered on the February 2002, fights for the social model of disability. Association have 94 parents-members. Those are parents of children with cerebral paralyze, RPM, autism, epilepsy, muscle dystrophy and the other types of disabilities. We are members of National Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Disabilities Montenegro "NARDOS-CG".

The most important activities: work of support services in which the organized work with children and to young PwDs with the aim of improving preserved abilities, organization of educational and psychological workshops, organizing and participating in all public events in Pljevlja with a view to release children from isolation.

The Association operates the following services: Half-day stay, Teaching assistants, Personal assistants for help at home, Custom transport, Volunteer Service, Creative workshops for youth with disabilities.

 

8 JOSIP MATOS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Vukovar, Croatia

The school was founded in 1970, and continued to work 1.1. 2003. The school educates 61 students aged 7 to 21 years with intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, chronic illness . According to the statute of the school area of operation is pre-school education, elementary education and basic education for adults with developmental disabilities.

The school works in one shift and has an extended professional treatment, organized transport and meals for students. The courses are organized through classes and educational groups, and a variety of extracurricular activities (eco-groups, recitations, silk painting, sports groups, household) and rehabilitation activities (sensory integration therapy, auditory integration training, logotherapy).

The school has participated in a number of projects at the local, regional and international levels and cooperates with NGOs and institutions and organizations.

 

9 SOCIAL EDUCATIONAL CENTER – SEC

Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The institution for adult education “Social-educative Centre" (SEC) is a newly established institution, specialized for vocational education of adults in the field of social vocations. SEC is the only institution of a kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina. SEC is a dynamic education institution where the education process is conducted under the andragogy standards (adult education standards). Teaching contents and working methods are fully adjusted to the needs and previous knowledge of students. In its work, the SEC applies the principles of equality, respecting the dignity and holiness of a person, professionalism and no discrimination.

SEC is implementing official, valid programs of education to enable performing activities in the field of social vocations, but also offers a number of informal training in this field.

 

10 RITTMEYER REGIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND OF TRIESTE

Trieste, Italy

The Rittmeyer Institute is a regional public body that provides services for people with visual impairment also with multiple disabilities.

We offer services for all age people, from some months old till the last days of their life. So the support is different as well as the ages are different: from school support till the university one; from the vocational path for specific professions that our government reserves to them till the occupational working places; from the support in the daily life when they stay at home till the support - inside the istituto Rittmeyer - when they can not anymore live alone.

 

11 REPUBLIC CENTER FOR SUPPORT OF PERSONS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILLITY „PORAKA“

Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia 

The Republic Center for Support of Persons with intellectual disability – PORAKA has a status of a National Disability Organization and is in the Register of Associations of Citizens in the area of social protection, which is kept in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. PORAKA was established in 1963 and today unites 20 local branches all over Macedonia. PORAKA developed a network of alternative community-based services:Resource center (counseling and information service), Social clubs and counseling services in all local organizations, Day centers for adolescents and adults with intellectual disability, Initiatives for creation of services for independent living for persons with intellectual disability. POROKA is member of: NSIOM – National Council of Disability Organisations in Macedonia, INCLUSION EUROPE, INCLUSION INTERNATIONAL, EASPD.

 

12 INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Ljubljana School for the Deaf is the central Slovenian state institution for the education of deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired children and adolescents. Founded in 1900 in Ljubljana, initially as a private institution, it has operated as a state institution since 1905. We educate children from the time of diagnosis until they have completed their studies at our secondary school. Our primary goal is the optimal development of the child's abilities in all areas, with special emphasis on the development of language, communication, hearing and speech. All children and students in our school are children with special needs. Units in our school are: kindergarten, primary school, vocational secondary school and health unit.

School is experienced partner in many European projects for children, students and professionals.

Our school has been involved in many projects within Lifelonglearning programme and recieved European label language award for Tiny Signers project in a year 2012.
